If it had known they’d explode from inside during the Saturn/Dreamcast years maybe it’s a good thing it didn’t! The Genesis was indeed the go-to machine for every style of game conceivable, from Roads of Crazy to Comix Zone, Golden Axe to Columns, and fortunately launched Sega into the corridors of glory forever. This beast has some of the most memorable classic titles ever. That remark may have already sparked debate, but it is true. I adore the Master Series and the Gaming Gear, but really the Genesis is the finest system Sega ever manufactured. Like I said, probably going to move to a RetroPie for my emulation needs. We’re not concerned with Phill Collins or Genesis’ biggest hits we’re merely interested in the finest Sega Genesis emulators nowadays! Just annoying that I have this powerful PC and the damn emulators won't work right lol. On occasion a game won't work or there will be slight sound issues but I've had zero performance issues so far.

Not sure what issues you've had with Android emulation but for the most part my experience has been pretty smooth. But windowed it still runs horribly, no matter what the resolution is. And yeah, this is the problem we currently have with emulators, the major ones all were left to bitrot and the newer ones are less popular and have usability issues (the aforementioned RetroArch thing about GPGX which by the way I never got to work, and BlastEm still doesn't have its new UI as far as I remember).I tried the alternate timing setting and the game runs smoothly in fullscreen mode now in Fusion at least.

With Fusion make sure to check the alternate timing setting, otherwise I guess Windows 10 just doesn't like 32-bit Direct3D programs (especially emulators that don't come with the DirectX installer as they're supposed to be).
Any help or feedback would be appreciated. Bout to just get a RetroPie and be done with trying to emulate games on the PC as the Android emulators seem to be flawless and less buggy than these old PC emulators that no one updates anymore.
I do have two monitors running at the same time, but I can't imagine why that would be an issue either as I was running emulators in dual screen mode back in 2002 in Windows XP.Īny suggestions as to what I can do? I'm at a loss. My point is though that I've got the specs to run games in 4k, yet these stupid emulators won't run smoothly. Although I do have a 4k monitor and I'm wondering if it has something to do with the refresh rate maybe? Who knows.Īm I missing something? What gives? I've got a beast of a PC with the newest generation i-7 6900 chip and a Nvidia 1080 graphics card, not that that should matter.

It is incredibly frustrating! Emulators like Gens and Kega Fusion run incredibly choppy, no matter what settings or resolution I use, full screen, windowed etc. But for the life of me I cannot get any of the emulators I've tried to run smoothly in Windows 10. But I'm finding myself needing to for a project I'm working on. Hey everyone, it's been a while since I've really emulated Genesis (I stick to real hardware most of the time).
